Test-day checklist
- Book the private hire knowledge test with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council licensing (reigate-banstead.gov.uk). The hackney carriage test is a written test at the Town Hall.
- Private hire test: online, 20 multiple-choice questions in 4 sections, 45 minutes. Pass mark 90% (18/20).
- A map or Google Maps may be used for the navigation questions: have it ready before you start.
- Have photo ID ready. Fee covers the first attempt and a re-take.
